Help unable To open Xcf pdf png jpg or save any files to disk??? - andrew2068 - 03-30-2021

I tried printing something i was working on when gimp print window stopped responding.  I restarted gimp and now I cant open any file in gimp  including xcf files.
this is what it says when i try to open  any xcf file.

 Opening 'C:\Users\leeho\OneDrive\Pictures\CATOLOG CONES PAGE.xcf' failed:

GIMP XCF image plug-in could not open image

 jpgs. :
Opening 'C:\Users\leeho\OneDrive\Pictures\catolog vents page.jpg' failed:

JPEG image plug-in could not open image

pdf:
Opening 'C:\Users\leeho\OneDrive\Pictures\CATOLOG vents PAGE.pdf' failed:

Could not load 'C:\Users\leeho\OneDrive\Pictures\CATOLOG vents PAGE.pdf': PDF document is damaged

it seems every file I worked on  with gimp no mater the format it was saved in will no longer open.  I tried sending to a flash drive so i could open it on another computer  but  I keep getting an error  " cloud file provider not running"     I even tried opening older files built using gimp on a different machine and transferred to this one via flash drive this is the notice  i receive:
Hmmm… can't reach this page
It looks like the webpage at file:///C:/Users/leeho/OneDrive/Pictures/CATOLOG%20CONES%20PAGE.pdf might be having issues, or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
ERR_FAILED

I tried Updating,  uninstalling and reinstalling  ect.  nothing!   please help

Probably related to storing files on OneDrive.

Some associated bug reports

Have you tried moving the problem file to a local folder, pictures maybe.
Not so much a Gimp problem as a Windows permissions issue, of course the PDF might be corrupt. Does it open in any other application?

This is probably a Windows security feature, a quick search brings up this. https://www.windowscentral.com/how-enable-write-protection-usb-devices-windows-10

Are you able to run Gimp 'As Administrator' ?
