I Need An Image Browser Plugin - StageMan - 06-17-2021 Hello, I spent years using Jasc Paint Shop Pro 7 (PSP 7) up to this year. I switched to Gimp a couple of months ago. PSP 7 has a image Browser built-in to it so I can see the images that I want to load. Does Gimp have a Image Browser Plugin similar to what's in PSP 7? (see images below PSP-7-(01) 37k | PSP-7-(02) 174k) RE: I Need An Image Browser Plugin - rich2005 - 06-18-2021 I can not think of a dedicated Gimp plugin but there are image browsers that perform a similar function. I use XnviewMP https://www.xnview.com/en/ looks like this [attachment=6234] Using the linux appimage there, best place for downloads is the forum https://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?f=82&t=41963 RE: I Need An Image Browser Plugin - PixLab - 06-18-2021 (06-18-2021, 07:04 AM)rich2005 Wrote: Using the linux appimage there, best place for downloads is the forum https://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?f=82&t=41963Same here, using XnView MP, for something like 20 years now (strating with Windows 98 or ME I just don't really remember ) Just right click on an image and open with GIMP or just use the the shortcut keyboard auto assigned(Alt+1) on a selected image. I'm using the .deb package from XnView MP To set-up GIMP as "Open With" in XnView, it's extremely simple, on the screenshot below the red arrow point it out, just follow what the next window tells/ask you [attachment=6235] RE: I Need An Image Browser Plugin - StageMan - 06-26-2021 (06-18-2021, 07:33 AM)PixLab Wrote:(06-18-2021, 07:04 AM)rich2005 Wrote: Using the linux appimage there, best place for downloads is the forum https://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?f=82&t=41963Same here, using XnView MP, for something like 20 years now (strating with Windows 98 or ME I just don't really remember ) Rich, I just installed and associated it with Gimp. If I was close I'd give you a brotherly hug and good back patting! RE: I Need An Image Browser Plugin - denzjos - 06-27-2021 The windows explorer can show large icons : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p21vg2yvyqs. One click on a icon (photo or picture) with the right mouse button open a pull-down menu where you chose 'open with' and then gimp. Gimp is now activated and the photo or picture is load. If gimp was already open and one have no picture load for the moment, then with the left mouse button pressed drag the photo or picture to the gimp workspace. If one have already a picture load in gimp, then the picture you dragged is set as a new layer.
