Import CR3 using rawtherapee plugin - stosh - 07-13-2021 I am trying to import Canon R5 CR3 files into GIMP - my understanding is I needed to install the newest Rawtherapee 5.8 plugin (which I did). When I try the import into GIMP all I get is a giant white square with no picture. So I tried opening Rawtherapee directly - the preview thumbnails look great - but when I click on one it also becomes just a white rectangle. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a setting I have to set? Also - what is the best method - directly pulling into GIMP using the Rawtherapee plugin or using Rawtherapee itself as a stand-alone and exporting it as a TIFF and then importing that into GIMP? I want to retain as much data from the RAW file as I can. Thanks in advance RE: Import CR3 using rawtherapee plugin - PixLab - 07-13-2021 I did not install a "plugin" my rawtherapee 5.8 is "normal" and opens those cr3 > https://www.photographyblog.com/previews/canon_eos_r_photos (scroll down to "Sample Raw images") I can edit them without any problem. as you can see I increased the contrast [attachment=6354] If you have problem You convert them to other formats in the Canon Digital Photo Professional also known a DPP (Mac and Windows only), TIFF - PNG, DNG?, or so all DSLR Canon owners have it or can access to ti (maybe a CD/DVD like I had 10 years ago) you can download it online for free as well > https://www.canon-europe.com/support/consumer_products/software/digital-photo-professional.html That's a nice software (especially its black and white setting using colors' sliders that I recall well), and if I recall it does batch process to export |
