how retire the gimp symbol (dog) from my gimp desktop - madlinux - 09-20-2021 I understand the symbol being the same since gimp creation. but I don't want that ugly poorly drawn dog in my desktop area. I want a clean desktop. what I can do? [attachment=6719] RE: how retire the gimp symbol (dog) from my gimp desktop - Ofnuts - 09-20-2021 Edit the source and recompile, because AFAIK this isn't configurable(*). By the way, this isn't not a dog, this is Wilber, the Gimp's mascot, more like a cousin of the coyote, according to lore. But the best way to get rid of it is to load an image. (*) Another way is to try to run Glimpse, which is a fork of Gimp to rename it remove anything that could be deemed unholy or objectionable (like Gimp's name itself). However the whole thing stalled after Gimp 2.10.18. |
