I know there is plugin to batch resize a large number of images in an automated way
Is there any plugin to crop a large number of images?

It depends on the images.

If the images are all the same size and orientation, then use the Gimp plugin BIMP. The BIMP crop action allows a width (same as image dimension) and a new height and a starting point (top left).

If the images are different sizes and orientations then I recommend not-Gimp. Use a utility such as XnViewMP which will batch convert permitting a dimension specified from a side. example: https://i.imgur.com/RUvzP2F.jpg
