How to make a seamless tile - davidhelp - 06-06-2022 Hello I have an image of colored tape and I like the colors. They each have multiple colors. How to make a seamless tile with similar pattern that I can use as a background for my Windows 7 desktop? http://davidswebsite.com/gimp/colored_tape1.jpg RE: How to make a seamless tile - rich2005 - 06-06-2022 It depends what you envisage as the desktop image. The center of the original is reasonably regular, make a thin strip as a selection. https://i.imgur.com/2XY5muv.jpg Might look like this: https://i.imgur.com/V9thJvt.jpg You can check that out as a clipboard copy filling a desktop size image. Might look like this: https://i.imgur.com/KCtaYC7.jpg If acceptable export the strip as a png to the Gimp patterns folder. For a Windows desktop image, export as a jpg. If it is something else, then give-us-a-clue. RE: How to make a seamless tile - davidhelp - 06-06-2022 rich2005It depends what you envisage as the desktop image. Thanks but I meant a single color with a random pattern that is seamless that can be tiled. Nice images you made. RE: How to make a seamless tile - rich2005 - 06-06-2022 Looks to me like a noisy jpeg image However (1) Pick a colour (2) Make a tile (say 400 x 400) & fill (3) Apply noise (try RGB) Filters -> Noise https://i.imgur.com/w1VR80r.jpg (4) Apply a Gaussian blur Filters -> Blur (5) Make seamless Filers _> Map -> Tile Seamless (6) Export as a Pattern file. https://i.imgur.com/shODkek.jpg You can replace the Gimp Tile Seamless with a third part plugin 'resynthesizer' and get a slightly better blend. Not really necessary for this one. RE: How to make a seamless tile - davidhelp - 06-08-2022 (06-06-2022, 08:53 AM)rich2005 Wrote: Looks to me like a noisy jpeg image However Thanks for the walkthru. |
