Gimp 2.9 force setting? - mholder - 10-13-2017 Does anyone know what the brush setting of 'Force' do in Gimp 2.9? The Gimp docs say 'TO DO,' I guess that means someone still needs to describe it. The best I can tell is that force means how opaque the transparent pixels will draw, somewhere between the brush and pencil tool, but I don't really know. That about sums it up, I assume it is aimed at using a graphic tablet and adjusting (pressure?) force on the fly. My ancient Wacom is very over-sensitive on this Kubuntu setup and difficult to use. As far as I see anything over a very small setting, 6-ish is just normal density. Pencil tool. This is in the change log somewhere, 'force' is disabled when using the pencil tool. RE: Gimp 2.9 force setting? - Espermaschine - 12-10-2019 I used to think know what it is, but im not sure now. In case its what is called Flow in Photoshop and Affinity, its the Opacity per brushtip, which means its capable of building up colour, unlike Opacity which controls the whole stroke. What i dont understand is why the default is set to 50 and not 100. Either its broken or i dont understand it. The manual only says it "Modifies gain". Anybody have any further insight ? |
