Mirror images to 4/8 sides - Zwergchen - 12-30-2022

Hey there,
how can I mirror an image in this way?

I need it to create seamless textures ^^

While editing the "main", all the "mirrors" should be updated.
And if possible, the "mirrors" shouldn´t be paintable.

My current workflow is to mirror it by myself a lot of times till it is perfectly how I want it, but it´s a horrible way...

Only thing I can think of is Windows > Dockable Dialogs > Symmetry Painting, set to 'Tiling', set Interval X and Y to one third the size of your canvas, drag guides to 1/3rd and 2/3rds along X and Y axes so you know your boundary and paint... not sure about the seamless part though.

Thanks, that works for me ^^

Now I need to learn how to use GIMP, because I did this with paint.net till now, which has a much more userfriendly UI...
