Resource manager. - sallyanne - 03-18-2023 Do not know if it is a script or plugin. Can someone attach this here please or link me to where I may find it? RE: Resource manager. - Ofnuts - 03-18-2023 If you mean my own addonCollectionManager-3.0, it is here, with doc here. Even though it goes in your plug-ins directory, it is neither a script nor a plug-in, it is a piece of code that takes advantage of Gimp's habit to run anything that looks executable on startup, in case it wants to register as a plugin, which it doesn't. RE: Resource manager. - sallyanne - 03-18-2023 ofnuts, is this the one then, that you can put your brushes, fonts etc in categories or do I use something else? RE: Resource manager. - Krikor - 03-18-2023 Sally, By chance yesterday I became aware of this option: https://fontba.se/ "All platforms. Professional features. Beautiful UI. Totally free. FontBase is the font manager of the new generation, built by designers, for designers." It would be just for fonts, and I'm not sure if it works with Gimp, although it most likely does. I only found out about this option last night so I haven't fully informed myself about it yet. RE: Resource manager. - sallyanne - 03-18-2023 Thank you Krikor. Maybe you have to put things in folders yourself first then the add-on-collection manager will be useful after. I am asking this question for someone else so I can give them the answer they are looking for. No one else has answered this question yet https://discuss.pixls.us/t/add-a-custom-brush-set-tab-to-gimp/36059 RE: Resource manager. - Krikor - 03-18-2023 (03-18-2023, 10:32 AM)sallyanne Wrote: Thank you Krikor. I read the post from the link, and I agree with the answer you gave. In addition to organizing the brushes in folders, he can still use the Ofnuts manager, which makes this task even easier. Yes. Supports all addon types, including scripts, except true plugins (binary and Python). RE: Resource manager. - sallyanne - 03-18-2023 Thank you both RE: Resource manager. - rich2005 - 03-18-2023 (03-18-2023, 09:57 AM)Krikor Wrote: By chance yesterday I became aware of this option: Certainly works with linux (kubuntu 20.04) The linux appimage is a monster 90 MB and it is internet based, you do need an active internet connection...but it does access the google font collection and there are hundreds of fonts there. However not all functions available in the free version. Ofnuts collection manager works with fonts. Fonts handling not as good in Windows as in linux. Windows OS does not always release a font when it is closed. Sometimes needs a restart. For other resources such as brushes, a couple of screenshots here which might help. https://www.gimp-forum.net/Thread-Muchos-Brushes?pid=14819#pid14819 One Gimp function that is not always mentioned are tool-presets. Normally created in Gimp but they are just text files which you can copy / edit for different properties. This example showing a folder of .gtp pre-sets and applied to a specific brush. https://i.imgur.com/bmXHxJN.mp4 |
