Editing Problem - jeffarda06 - 05-31-2023

Hello,

I've created an A2 size image from the template provided by Gimp.
I've rotated 90° this image to have a "Landscape" type image.
Then I've added some text.
Unfortunately, this one was added upside down and I also had to rotate it 90° to put it in the direction of the image.
Then, every time I click on this text (to add letters or increase the font size), I get the message:
"Confirm Editing Text... The layer you selected is a text layer but it has been modified using other tools. Editing the layer with the text tool will remove these changes".
When I press the "Edit" button at the bottom of this window, the text rotates automatically by -90°!

It's very painful.
Why such a behavior?
Is there anything to do?

Thanks

I think you have just rotated the view - shift-middle-mouse and drag. That leaves the canvas in portrait mode. Start again and open a new canvas in landscape mode. Click on the icon to swap orientation.

By rotating the text you lose the Text layer property and it becomes a graphic layer. That is why you get that message. Text layers have a T icon .
