Export corrupted psd file - Lionnne - 07-07-2023

I'm trying to save my project in psd file type, but when I load it in a psd reader, it gets squeezed and duplicated and I cannot find a way to fix it.
I also tried to save it as a pdf but it still gets distorted in a different way.
I'm using Pop_Os!

A very quick test, two layers. same size as your image 816x1170 px saved as a Gimp .xcf and exported as a psd.

Each open and display correctly in photopea

Those layers: CMYK copy and hidden layers ? Might be best if you attach the problem file.

First the Gimp back.xcf It is a bit over-the-top 32 bit Floating Point, and there is an active over-large selection, larger than the canvas. No reason for that, turn it off.

I can confirm that strange doubling of back_final.psd image when opened in PhotoPea, but I think that is a PhotoPea issue, the same open in an actual Photoshop. screenshot https://i.imgur.com/DVogyJL.jpg

It is 16 bit, and marked as CMYK,RGB,16bit I have not come across that mix before. The Channels dock (and imagemagick identify) tells me it is RGB.

Is your intention is a CMYK image for printing purposes ? Various ways to make it, I use a Gimp plugin CYAN and 8 bit precision is good enough.  In PS screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/UryI1h1.jpg  The card template is lost but your path remains.  This is the file  cmyk-8bit.psd zipped (saves bandwidth remember to unzip it) https://oshi.at/PMdu

That opens in PhotoPea as:

[attachment=10049]

It identifies in PhotoPea as CMYK but Channels shows RGB. PhotoPea is not Photoshop any more than Gimp is.
cmyk-8bit.psd will open in Gimp and converts to RGB as normal. Gimp 2.10.34 will not yet open a 16bit PS CMYK file. (but you can import 16 bit using the CYAN plugin)

That is all about I can deduce at the moment from your images. Keep posting, someone will have other solutions.

Thank you for the help!

I'll try to send the file you gave me, otherwise I kinda lost hope to find a solution to that and just move on with another option.

I think the bottom line is:

Change any high precision settings to 8 bit and remove any active selections before exporting to psd format.

I think the problem is not so much your file as Photopea.
