Glass overlay - bigmanaw - 08-30-2023 Hi, Im trying to get a glass effect over this image so it looks as though its framed. Im not sure if the colour needs changing on the image as well but i want it to look as real as possible. Can anyone help please. TIA Andy Trying to add the image but it says it wont work. If someone is able to help i can email the template/image over. Thanks RE: Glass overlay - PixLab - 08-30-2023 (08-30-2023, 09:11 AM)bigmanaw Wrote: Trying to add the image but it says it wont work. More info > https://www.gimp-forum.net/misc.php?action=help&hid=11 Anyway you can put it on imgur.com or https://imgbb.com/ and give us the link RE: Glass overlay - bigmanaw - 08-30-2023 (08-30-2023, 09:26 AM)PixLab Wrote:(08-30-2023, 09:11 AM)bigmanaw Wrote: Trying to add the image but it says it wont work. RE: Glass overlay - Ofnuts - 08-30-2023 You can try the "Lighting Effects" filter, after pushing the Bright/Shiny/Glossy settings. Where would i find these settings? RE: Glass overlay - Krikor - 08-30-2023 (08-30-2023, 09:11 AM)bigmanaw Wrote: Hi, Im trying to get a glass effect over this image so it looks as though its framed. If you have G'MIC installed, the 'Textured Glass' and Drop Water (Shape - Opaque Regions on Top layer) filters could give a good result. Another option (which can be used together with the previously mentioned filters) is to use an image of transparent glass over the artwork (adjusting the blending modes of the layers according to the best result they produce). It is also possible to work with brushstrokes (white/black) on a new layer to produce highlights and shadows, regulating the blur applied to these brushstrokes as well as the opacity and layer mode (overlay, soft light, etc). Perhaps there is some other plugin/script that makes this result even easier. Edited: I just tried... Something like this?! https://ibb.co/VYgRfh0 RE: Glass overlay - denzjos - 08-30-2023 Glass overlay : Maybe this workflow can give you an idea : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6LBXDSza9gA RE: Glass overlay - Ofnuts - 08-30-2023 (08-30-2023, 12:36 PM)bigmanaw Wrote:(08-30-2023, 11:25 AM)Ofnuts Wrote: You can try the "Lighting Effects" filter, after pushing the Bright/Shiny/Glossy settings. Filters > Light and shadows > Lighting effects, Material tab. With that filter, you can simulate the reflection of a light.
