Problem with resolution - WillyWonka - 05-26-2024 Hi all! I'm a beginner in GIMP, using a version 2.10.14. My aim is to create a set of different postcards. I have the following problem with resolution: I found an image with a resolution 1000 by default, in 'Scale image' menu I change it to 300 dpi and to 10x15 cm the size. Then as usual I export it in JPG format, and close the program. In the folder in metadata I see the correct resolution and size how I set it up, but when I open this image in GIMP again, open 'Print size' menu I see a resolution 72 instead of 300, and a different size. Could anyone please guide me what I did wrong, and how to save these options for further work with the images? Also I'm afraid of having incorrect resolution/size because I need many copies at once and I would get incorrect postcards at the copy center. RE: Problem with resolution - WillyWonka - 05-26-2024 Sure, here is the link to the image, it's too big to attach it here https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1j6cicj3dDIcYZXqwa_9QYSUa6gz1SgLd?usp=sharing And also a screenshot of what I see right after I opened GIMP again RE: Problem with resolution - rich2005 - 05-26-2024 (05-26-2024, 12:54 PM)WillyWonka Wrote: Sure, here is the link to the image, it's too big to attach it here From memory (never reliable) it was, at the time, a bug in the jpeg library. (or was it the exif lib) [attachment=11919] Using Windows ? Why not update to the latest version. For printing 10 cm x 15 cm it should not make any difference, the pixel size remains the same and the printer will fit it accordingly. Note the depth, not 15 cm - that is the aspect ratio, start again, crop to 10:15, then scale to 300 ppi. RE: Problem with resolution - WillyWonka - 05-26-2024 You're right, that was a bug, the latest version works fine! Thank you! |
