Generating rivers with Processing - Ofnuts - 08-10-2024 Dreamed up an algorithm last night, wrote it this morning. Delighted to see how well it works. [attachment=12217]
Even better when you see it in action, growing the network.

RE: Generating rivers with Processing - denzjos - 08-10-2024 A blueprint of a working brain at night, nice RE: Generating rivers with Processing - Ofnuts - 08-10-2024 Can be used to create interesting bumpmaps. [attachment=12219]
RE: Generating rivers with Processing - Ofnuts - 08-11-2024 Now with color-tracking [attachment=12225]
RE: Generating rivers with Processing - Ofnuts - 08-11-2024 Also does nice trees: [attachment=12226] and with foliage: [attachment=12227] RE: Generating rivers with Processing - PixLab - 08-12-2024 It's electrifying The last one is super cool as well as the colored circle, are you working on a plugin? RE: Generating rivers with Processing - denzjos - 08-12-2024 Ofnuts, nice done, now another night dreaming how to put a tree trunk below the tree foliage RE: Generating rivers with Processing - Ofnuts - 08-12-2024 (08-12-2024, 03:38 AM)PixLab Wrote: It's electrifying Nope, just for fun. And anyway this rather heavy & slow computing, the colored circle takes around 15mn on my rather decent PC, I can make it run faster by changing a parameter but this makes the result a lot more linear and less interesting.
