removing tricky backgrounds ? - rf4f4rr4rf4 - 09-28-2024

Usually the 'color to alpha' or the fuzzy select tool work, but sometimes I cannot use those because of the similar values to the object and background, is there a tool I am missing?

As you can see the fuzzy select tool bleeds into the object Im trying to cut out.

There are lots of select tools and with that picture you may have to choose one that will not 'automatically' get rid of your background. Either. free select or the path tool then path to select, both which will take you longer or you could try a mask.
There is also the foreground select tool (Which you could invert the selection to get rid of the background) but that isn't fast either.
