ofn3-align-layers - Ofnuts - 12-07-2024 A conversion of ofn-layer-aligner, can handle several layers in one swoop. At the expected place. Enjoy. PS: learned the hard way that when you use the wrong operator to compute a scale factor, Gimp will happily attempt to create a terapixel image. Took a while for the OOM-killer to react.... RE: ofn3-align-layers - zxc_jk5050 - 03-17-2025 Hello, thank you for making this script, I've been using it with v2.10.38 for some time without issues. I can't say the same for gimp to 3.0 tho, I updated the align-layers script to the one you mention in this thread. I can't get it to work, as in it's not appearing in the layers menu. Thing's I've checked/tried: 1. correct folder placement and structure inside plugins folder 2. new plugins folder in an arbitrary location 3. running "gimp --verbose" in CMD only outputs this: Line 607: Querying plug-in: 'Z:\SOFTWARE\GIMP SCRIPTS\PLUGINS\ofn3-align-layers\ofn3-align-layers.py' IDK what else to try, Any suggestions? RE: ofn3-align-layers - Ofnuts - 03-17-2025 Do you see it in the procedure browser (Help > Procedure browser) [attachment=13208]
If not, can you retry after 1) moving the plugin to the standard plugin folder and/or 2)
renaming your GIMP SCRIPTS to GIMPSCRIPTS (no spaces) and of course updating the Gimp preferences to match?
RE: ofn3-align-layers - zxc_jk5050 - 03-18-2025 It is missing in the procedure browser, I renamed my folder to have no spaces and updated the path inside the preferences, I also tried moving the "ofn3-align-layers" folder to both of the default folders with no success, pretty weird I think. I might have to continue using the older version of gimp just for this script. RE: ofn3-align-layers - Ofnuts - 03-18-2025 Would this be relevant? RE: ofn3-align-layers - zxc_jk5050 - 03-18-2025 when i install gimp 3.0.0 i tick the checkbox that says python scripting support but yeah, it's not visible inside Filters > Dev >. I only have: 1. Filters > Dev > Plugin examples 2. Filters > Dev > Script-Fu > Script-Fu "console" and "start server" so yes, the reddit link is relevant, I tried both versions as well. I also have the language set to english and I did not install any translations. RE: ofn3-align-layers - nchen - 03-19-2025 Hi guys, It looks like Python may not be functional on the Windows version of 3.0. https://www.reddit.com/r/GIMP/comments/1je3k45/gimp_300_python_is_broken_for_me/ Can't wait for a fix ![]() RE: ofn3-align-layers - zxc_jk5050 - 03-19-2025 thanks a bunch for the info, apparently they are already working on a fix. will update once the fix is done just to confirm this script runs. RE: ofn3-align-layers - zxc_jk5050 - 03-25-2025 Just letting you know, gimp 3.0.0 rev1 fixed the issue with python scripts not running, so now we're all good; thank you. |
