Tool windows enlarge controls hidden - calamita - 12-11-2024
My windows for tools seem to have got very large. Worse, when I first open an image & the Shadows/Highlight tool, I can see the OK etc commands (see image 1) but if I do anything at all to the image, even rotating slightly, I can no longer access those OK/Cancel/Reset buttons. The Shadows/Highlight window will not reduce in size (I see the crosshairs but cannot reduce the size); if I try to move that window up, it jumps back into place as soon as I let go.
I've tried complete removing GIMP & re-installing but nothing changes. Help from an expert would be very much appreciated.

To restore defaults
Edit -> Preferences -> Interface -> Window Management and click on Reset Saved Window Positions to Default Values
Edit -> Preferences -> Tool Options and click on Reset Saved Tool Options to Default Values
Edit -> Preferences -> Input Devices and click on Reset Saved Input Device Settings to Default Values
restart Gimp
