A nice YT video about blend modes - Ofnuts - 12-15-2024
Not meant for Gimp, but blend modes are common across image editors. Some math insides, but nothing too hard, and nice examples.

Cool video! The math behind image processing is so interesting. It's such an open ended concept with a lot of room to explore.

If the blend modes were listed with their equations in a python file it would make a great addition to 'gimphelpers'. It could be called 'blend-mode-chooser'. Maybe that is where this is going?

They already are in Gimp.LayerModes.
They are in a large Choice variable in my Gimp3 script ofn3-interleave-layers. You are welcome to steal that. I'll think about adding it to gimphelpers (or a side module).
