Text tool is not working - MMM - 12-19-2024 I've lost the box to the left that used to come up with text tool. When I try to change liine spacing in the controls above the text box nothing changes except uselessly adding text layers in the window that does show: does not change the actual line spacing at all. It is using the last line spacing I added which is now creating way too much space between lines than what I want. Do not want to reinstall GIMP because I fear losing the color palettes I've set up. Thanks for any help. the big garble is apparently doesn't like the jpeg screengrab I tried to include RE: Text tool is not working - sallyanne - 12-20-2024 I think the box you have lost may be the tool options. Has options for most - not all tools when they are selected. You must have the tool options box open if thats what you want. If you have inadvertantly closed it follow the following [attachment=12820] [attachment=12822] Then to make sure you dont lose it and you will also find in that menu where it says 'lock tab to dock' Check it! Go to edit, preferences and windows management and follow this image [attachment=12821] RE: Text tool is not working - Ofnuts - 12-20-2024 You have lost the Tool options dialog (for the Text tool and others), see here: https://www.gimp-forum.net/Thread-Getting-the-Tool-options-back-once-for-all For the rest, learn about your Gimp profile. This is just a directory that you can backup/copy if needed. After following the reset instructions the tool options box started showing up again and I was able to change the added line spacing back to zero. Thanks again!
