Put the file webexport.exe in C:\Users\"yourname"\AppData\Roaming\GIMP\2.10\plug-ins Menu Entry is File -> Save for Web This forum uses English but there is an Italian forum https://gimpitalia.it for more comprehensive answers
By the way, since at least Gimp 2.8, if you check the "show preview in image window", you get a file size estimate in the dialog in addition to the quality preview. This covers 95% of the uses of the "Save for web" plugin in previous versions.

I am searching for the original plugin for windows. But, the original link https://registry.gimp.org/node/33 shows a 404 error.
Any original link to download?

registry.gimp.org is long gone.
Just for reference: Most (but not all) files were archived here: https://github.com/pixlsus/registry.gimp....org/files Save for web is one of the missing. Use web.archive .com https://web.archive.org/web/201605230043...rg/node/33

Not working? This is the file webexport.exe.zip from post #2
Working here Win10 / Gimp 2.10.22 so a quick installation check. 1. Unzipped and the file webexport.exe put in your Gimp user profile C:\Users\"yourname"\AppData\Roaming\GIMP\2.10\plug-ins 2. There is an entry File -> Export for Web The 64 bit version is the best you will get for Win 10. As far as I know the export types work (jpeg2000 export not supported by Gimp 10) What is missing is the file size estimate. The regular jpeg export has this anyway. Save-for-Web is an ancient plugin that has limited use these days. If the plugin does not work on your installation it might be a Windows AV problem - Who knows? |
