I'm missing a font and I can't find it.

I used gimp to create some graphics for a software program that I created.

The font and graphic looked like this.

It's a simple but cool little 8 bit styled font, I believe it was called "automat".

Between then and now I have purchased a new computer and this font is not present.

I was using an apple with either high sierra or mojave depending on when I did this graphic.

I bought a new apple with Catalina and it seems this font is no longer a part of the system, but I can't find this font anywhere, I google searched multiple different sites and although some of them have a font called "automat" it's not this one.

I don't know if I'm mis-remembering the name or something but I really need to find this font.

Does anyone know this font or where I can get it?

Thanks.

Made a reasonable search without spending too much time on it. Without an immediate match, it is going to be difficult. Two close, but not exact.

Try scouting through dafont.com, needs to be a sans font ( for the 'I'). Then by eye that flatter 'S', the bar on the 'A', smaller middle arm in the 'E'

Edit: I have an old MacOS  (high sierra) VM, pulled that out and fired it up. Plenty fonts installed but no automat font or anything like it. Maybe it came with some application.

Edit again: Success. It is part of a old Mac audio synth application  https://www.macintoshrepository.org/17424-automat-1
Which contains that automat.ttf font (font attached, unzip it)

You are amazing, I used to have the automat freeware synth, it was actually a really nice little synth, but I outgrew it's usefulness and deleted it from my VST's.

I never would have thought that the font came from that old synth, the names being the same didn't even occur to me, it's been so long since I used that synth that I had forgotten all about it.

Thank you so much.

Do you have a paypal, because this is totally in that "but a guy a sixpack" territory.

Just PM me and I'll send you a sixer's worth of $.

Thank you.
