Gimp and Gimp-Edge PPAs are moving

People that use Gimp under Ubuntu can add a PPA to their software sources, so that Gimp is updated from it instead of being non-updated from the repos. The people behind the PPA have sent a notice that the PPA is moving:

The 'buntu repos & ppa were slow yesterday (morning). I was updating my 2.9.7 (for my appimage) and had to check my ISP speed in case it was my end.

As of now

https://launchpad.net/~otto-kesselgulasc...buntu/gimp Gimp 2.8.22 is working and gmic packages updated.

This is a bit strange, not sure what is happening, but

https://launchpad.net/~otto-meier/+archive/ubuntu/gimp is working and looks like an alternative for Gimp 2.8.22

I was a bit worried about that PPA, tried it with Gimp 2.10.20 (in a VM). Would it get updated to 2.10.22 ? and how long would it take ?

Only took a few days for the new release and I see that there is an update. Maybe this will fix the avif format import/export plugin. (the flatpak Gimp 2.10.22 has working AVIF - it can make very small files sizes but how much support at the moment? )

As far as I know, you still need to install python2 support as this post: https://www.gimp-forum.net/Thread-Heal-S...4#pid18354 I had to do that with the first install.

True. I've updated mine from 2.10.20 to 2.10.22. Didn't have to reinstall Python then.

I use GMIC-Qt and install it from GMIC official website:
http://gmic.eu/files/prerelease/

Use the command to hold GMIC, so that there will be no interference when updating GIMP.
