1) Can I convert my RGB photos in CMYK in the new Gimp version 2.10.32 ?
(I'm having to use for the moment an online site called rgb2cmyk.org).
2) Once a RGB photo has been converted into a CMYK photo, what happens if I want to work again on that same CMYK photo with softwares such as PAINT, PICASSA JPEGview ?
Is it still CMYK or does it become RGB again ?
(I know this may sound like a silly question...)

Not a silly question
Gimp at the moment is a 100% RGB editor. The developers are working on it, some improvements to importing CMYK images, but still RGB. You will have to wait probably until Gimp 3.xx
You can (sometimes) open a CMYK image in Gimp but it is converted to RGB and you will edit in RGB and it is saved/exported in RGB unless...
No need to use an online converter, there is a converter here https://cyan.fxarena.net/ that can be used stand-alone or when run also installs as a Gimp plugin.
Since Gimp will always edit in RGB, (also true of Paint...etc) use Krita http://www.krita.org which can convert between RGB <> CMYK and edit in either mode.

Sorry for the delay in answering due to my trying to figure out how CYAN.fxarena.net works.
As I am not very technical and new to this RGB / CMYK subject, do you know if there is a youtube tutorial somewhere about CYAN where it explains how to convert an image from RGB to CMYK ?

I did an explanation some time ago, well before Gimp 2.10.32 which has introduced a snag.
A good question about adding your own .icc file. First time you run Cyan.exe as well as installing the Gimp cyan.py plugin it makes a folder C:\Users\your-id\.config\Cyan\icc. Put your .icc profiles there.

I have downloaded the CYAN plug-in on my desktop and it someow downloaded itself automatically in my GIMP.
Somehow too, the SWOP2006 icc profile that I downloaded installed itself automatically in CYAN since it now appears as a choice.
Following your instructions, I have downloaded an image in GIMP and then in the CYAN plug-in there exported it into CYAN software.
So far so good but:
1) Once the image is there, once I have to put the SWOP2006 in the OUTPUT window what choice do I have to put in the INPUT window? (I have put sRGB (built-in)
2) I have left the GRAY, MONITOR windows respectively on "Select..." and "None". the INTENT window "Undefined" and the BLACK POINT window "blank".
The problem being is that the CMYK.JPG exported from CYAN seems to be exactly the same as the sRGB image imported.
I have also compared my CYAN cmyk image with my RGB2CMYK.ORG image and they are different so something is wrong somewhere in the convertion.
Do you have a link to the IMAGE MAGIK site so I can check to be sure?

I have downloaded ImageMagic as you've said and I end up with this ImageMagiK Display on my desktop (see png 30).
When I open it I have this (see png 31)
I seem to have no access there to identifying my image.

Not the way I fear. That is a sort of viewer and what you need is a Windows Command Terminal see: https://www.computerhope.com/issues/chusedos.htm Open in the same folder as the image and enter the magick verbose ....etc command.
I had a feeling that it might cause confusion. Recommend uninstalling and getting XnViewMP
In the meantime, a bit experimenting on why the rgb2cmyk.org image is different from the cyan version. I still do not know the reason but comparing the conversions from the web / Gimp Cyan / Krita rgb converted to CMYK and as an afterthought actual Adobe PS. The web version has much more black (K) than the others. I do not know which is correct but the web is outnumbered 3:1

Thank you for your answer. I thought you would give up on me after my last message as you must have guessed I am not technically proficient...
But I am stubborn!
Since my last message I have downloaded an image in CYAN via GIMP.
Last time, I hadn't OPENED the image so the conversion didn't work! But this time I DID!
I found out 2 things:
1) Even though i enter the RGB (Abode RGB 1998) input and CMYK (SWOP2006) output, If I leave the GRAY window at the bottom on "Select" the image can't get dowloaded into CYAN as a message tells you:
"Please set the default color profiles before loading images"
So I have to enter the GRAY window with either one of the 3 options: (it actually doesn't affect whatsoever the result of the CMYK conversion as I tried the 3 options)
EPSON Gray - Gamma 1.8
EPSON Gray - Gamma 2.2
ISO Coated v2 - GREY 1c - (built-in)
So I have 3 CMYK converted images exactly the same but different from my RGB2CMYK.ORG one.
So it looks as if if I am to use CYAN with GIMP, to convert my images into CMYK I'm going to have to slightly change my RGB image before converting so I get a satisfying result.
Since I am working on a book this RGB/CMYK business is all new to me!!!... More complex than I thought!

It is for when you have a greyscale image. Just set it to ISO Coated.
