Pictogram on screen
#1
I just created the shortcut to this forum.
Now it would be nice if there was also a Gimp icon.
So not the icons in the program itself, but an icon for the worksheet.
so the question is, where can i find the gimp icon.

Thank you in advance.

Apologies, I do not really understand the question.

Is this about your web browser, and an icon for a "dashboard" type display ?   This is using Opera Browser

How easy or difficult to change the Dashboard icon depends on the browser.  Give a few more details and someone might know.

Same as Rich2005, not sure I understand your question....

Anyway, when you over the icon on the web browser, there is 3 dots, click on them

Then a layer pops up with options for you to chose from like an external image if there is no image by default (might be your browser settings which block the original image)

@rich 2005 and @pixl.ab. I am using Windows 11 and as a browser Mozilla Firefox. And yes I made a shortcut on the dashboard. Then i get a standard firefox icon on me shortcut. By right-clicking on the shortcut and then selecting properties, I can find another icon. Unfortunately I don't know now where the gimp icon can be found.

The icon that comes with Gimp is in

C:\Program Files\GIMP 2\share\gimp\2.0\images

Many alternative designs if you do a google search.

I do not think Dutch is the problem. Perhaps it is Windows 11 or FireFox does not like png.

1. Open the png file in Gimp
2. Optional, if you want personalise it Wink
3. Export As and change the png to ico
4. You will not be able to export to the same folder, it is in the Operating System area. Export to a personal folder such as Pictures.
This a quick animation of that. https://i.imgur.com/r2KzrGE.mp4
Hope it works.

@ Rich 2005. I put the icon on the folder C:/ProgramFiles/Gimp2/Share/2.0/images (WILber-2.png) And now  am I able to select the icon and activate it.
