Hi.
I'm using Gimp 2.10.38 on a Windows 11 PC and I am having trouble printing photos. I load the photo and edit it but the colour changes I make are not reflected in the printed photo. I am using a Canon Pixma TS8350 printer and have updated the drivers.
The photo I am trying to print is coming out a little pale and with a slight blue hue. I used the Curves tool to increase green and red and these changes are shown in the screen image. When I print the picture the printed image is no different from the original. I am probably doing something wrong but I can't see what it is.

Ahh! I have printed the same photo from Irfanview and from MS Photos and they all look the same. Seems like the problem is with the printer or the drivers.
I am using HP Photopaper and non-standard ink cartridges. I suppose that this will have an influence but surely it can be adjusted in some way?

A bit late with a reply, no real solution. Is your Pixma TS8350 one of those with 6 ink cartridges, has a photo blue as well as cyan ?
Check the ink supply first.
Update drivers, maybe it is a Windows 11 thing.
Open the driver software and see if there is a "vivid" or "enhanced" setting somewhere.
If the printer comes with image editing software, use that for printing.
I swore off Canon (using linux) when the one I had would not use black ink for a photo. In theory M+C+Y add up (or rather subtract) to black but not in practise.

Yes, it has got a Photo Blue cartridge.
I'm confused by the print not showing colour changes I make in Gimp. Maybe I'll try printing out each colour channel separately and see what happens.

Disabling the colour channels doesn't change the printed output. Nothing I do to the colour seems to affect the printed output. I have tried using plain paper instead of photo paper and it is still the same. I have increased the yellow in the print settings and it makes no difference to the printed output. It is as though the printer has an automatic colour balance setting that it will not deviate from.

I've resolved the problem and I feel such an idiot!
I bought some more ink cartridges of a different brand (I have always used compatibles) and the print was fine. I decided to change back to the previous ones to see if the problem returned. Whilst doing so I noticed that the yellow ink was empty!!!!!!!!
The printer gave no indication that the yellow ink had run out and the label on the cartridge is huge and hid the empty portion. I don't know why there was no indication of low ink, perhaps a dodgy connection to the pub on the cartridge, but I'll keep a close eye on it.
It now makes sense that the colour changes I made in Gimp were not reflected in the printed output. No matter how yellow I made the image the printer couldn't display it without any ink!
