Paths Tool
#1
Good day my fellow Gimpy's. I have been using Gimp for a while now (7 or so years) but only the basics and what i need to create and paint cars in iRacing. My questions, can you make a smoother curve with more nodes or less?
Second question, when move the nodes to create a curve sometimes the line disappears and i get another anchor with 2 nodes splitting out. Its almost like you have to hit that node in the right spot.

I am using GIMP 2.10.38 (revision 1).

All the help i can get will be greatly appreciated.

P.S. Does anyone know of any videos that explain all the tools in Gimp, good videos, not those ones that play music and it`s done in 2 minutes.

Paths, it depends on what you are trying to create. More nodes give more detail, fewer nodes give a smoother result.

My opinion is less is better although it does take practice. For example (1) is from Selection to Path and (2) is hand made, starting with a path joining change of direction, then pulling the path out to release handles and form a curve. If you then need to add a node to adjust, a click adds a node.

There are Gimp 2.10 plugins to simplify / smooth a path see: http://kmarkku.arkku.net/  Section VII

It can happen, it is sensitive. Pull out a path to release adjoining node handles and sometimes you might get an extra node. Happens to me. CTRL-Z (undo) is your friend.

Nope. Too much BS and ego around. All the tools in one would be hours of video so be selective. IMHO if you cannot demo a tool in 5 minutes it is too long.
