Vitforlinux, I appreciate the links and helpful advice but, to be honest, all of that is way above my paygrade. Smile

Rich gave me what I was looking for with just a simple Ubuntu/Debian based Gimp appimage with plugins like resynthesizer and G'MIC that work correctly.

I believe that in May/June you will have GIMP 3 stable on Debian and Ubuntu, and GIMP in Appimage (2.10.38) will only be used to compare the old scripts, and make a passage to "without deprecated" before leaping to Gimp 3.
