text from right to left

I'm testing the text tool, especially the "from right to left" in the context menu. It doesn't do anything. It is the same status before clicking the menu. What am I missing here?

You possibly do not see any difference if

(1) Your computer set-up is for a 'Latin' script and has a western keyboard.
(2) In Gimp, starting off when the text box is in dynamic mode.

The right-to-left option shows better when the text box is a fixed and for demo purposes the old text editor is used. example: https://i.imgur.com/88MwTU0.jpg

If you were hoping that the order of the characters is reversed, you are out-of-luck.

alright. I've decided to write from right to left without the help of the menu. thanks for the reply.
