The number of tiles is 256. Currently I have a 768 by 768 pixel picture divided into 48 by 48 pixel tiles. I am editing/creating the tiles and then adding them back to the main picture.
The end goal is to create custom or edited tiles for RPG Maker MV. Currently I am editing existing tilesets to get used to the gimp controls but plan to create additional custom tiles. RPG Maker uses an icon form that is 768 by 768 so I would like to easily import the tiles back into the program in that size. However it would be nice to manually edit each tile and put it back to the main image.
Currently I can copy and paste for my testing however in the long run this will take a lot of time, especially scrolling back over 200 images in the top bar.
