Text Along Path - Cannot Move Text With Move Tool

For 2.8, the plug-in must go in
C:\Users\your-name\.gimp-2.8\plug-ins
(the location has changed for 2.10)

Restart Gimp

In the Paths Dialogue, right click on the path. Then Tools > Text along path
