If this is mirrored by a mouse wheel ( my old Wacom tablet pen does not have a wheel, so not able to test) then there are already settings in place ctrl-alt-(wheel rotation) for tool size. These of course can be changed Look in Edit -> Preferences -> Input Controllers see if your device adds to that in any way. Might / might-not be possible.
Yep, it Wacom MobileStudio Pro 13 with Wacom Airbrush pen ( the pen has a wheel ) that can be set up to control the "spray air" pressure in some brushes.
To be honest is just another rotary controller that can be used to change some numeric value.
I have tested the ctlr+alt+mouse wheel and it is working as mentioned, I just wish that I can used that functionality to be changed from the pen.
In other applications the size of the brush is usually using the pressure levels and honestly I watched a lot of artists on youtube and most of them want to have a fixed size when they are painting and increase/decrease the size on demand ( not on pressure ). Pressure is nice for opacity.
Photoshop does not have the option to make dynamic changes as GIMP has. I am really enjoying the tilt/size+opacity. Making the wheel from the pen to resize would save a lot of trips to settings for readjustments.
Here is the setting I am talking about. The combination of Size x Wheel/Rotation.
Photoshop calls this (Stylus wheel) . Are they two different things ? Wheel in GIMP case is actually "Mouse Wheel" ?
And there are no reads for Stylus Rotation and Stylus Wheel ? (Wacom Art Pen has Rotation)
I am more on technical side of things, if there is some coding tasks I can try, happy to support it.
