Does what it says. You need an image with an alpha channel and obviously areas of transparency. A selection is not necessary
Depending where the 'hole' is, use a suitable mode, inwards or outwards.
Useful for synthesizing surounding into small holes or depending on the image can fill in the border on an extended canvas. Best with a non-descript border.
