The gmic_gimp_qt plugin embedded in the appimage is 2.9.2 but dated a couple of months ago and David Tschumperlé has changed the code since then.
Are you still using Mint 19 ? Try this version I compiled a week ago https://u.pcloud.link/publink/show?code=...KrvLdF7p0k
Unzip and put the gmic_gimp_qt-292 file (check that it is still executable) in the Gimp profile ~/.config/GIMP-Appimage/plug-ins That will override the old plugin.
If you have updated your Mint to Mint 20 then get the appropriate plugin from http://www.gmic.eu and put in the Gimp profile as above.
