Microsoft Surface Pen Not Showing Up in Configure Input Devices, Please?

So i just bought and a new Microsoft Surface Pro 7, i5, and a Surface 4k pen.  I updated enerything in the Windows Updates menu first.  Just did a fresh install of GIMP also.  When i navigate to Edit, Input Devices, only the "Core Pointer" option is there, nothing for my surface pen.  My Gimp version is 2.10.22.

I have seen similar errors online, but not identical, and not with a working fix that i could find.  More than willing to provide extra information.  Thanks for considering helping me, i really appreciate it!
