Hi. I just watched this video and followed the steps strictly but I am unable to use eraser to delete the edge. The eraser doesn't erase anything, what's wrong in the middle?

I did exactly the same step and restarted the GIMP! just doesn't work at all. It's so painful...

Where is the problem? Please see the attached screen
