Ok, probably made that too complicated, at least until you get into using Gimp.
1. Take your image 1495959480711.png and change the mode to RGB Image -> Mode -> RGB
2. Remove the white background. Colours -> Color to Alpha (white is default so just OK that)
3.Change the black to white Colors -> Invert
Now it is up to you, start adding layers under that for background, image, text.
The graph might be tricky, use a selection, paint in what you want, maybe a bit of erasing to tidy up
Main thing is, keep the 'template' on top.
