Removing Background

I know this is should be a super easy task...lol

The technique used depends on the image. For this image, trace outline is not much slower than creating and adjusting a mask and is more certain. However, for complicated FG/BG, trace is not practical. example https://www.gimp-forum.net/Thread-gimp-2...0#pid30640 The mask made using a color indexed image.

The snag with your image is the bottom right background colours are close to parts of the foreground colours. Use a straight threshold and plenty of correction required https://i.imgur.com/3uMFXGR.jpg. You can rough-erase part of the BG as preparation or apply contrast before threshold. https://i.imgur.com/YkTTFWa.jpg  All amounts to an equal amount of correction.

Krikors I make adjustments to this layer mask...Now just make small adjustments to the created path, and voilà! might be as much work as any other method, but give it a try.

For this image the gmic filter gives a good result (another example https://youtu.be/Yu46Gs1NI34) I sometimes use this as a first step to a layer mask.

Plenty options to try, best of luck which comes with practice.
