If you are using a path as in the ealier posts, then you should scale / move the path to the required position. Then on a new layer fill the path Edit -> Fill Path 

If you want to use what you already have, then use Layer -> Scale Layer and the Move tool. 

One of your problems is you do not have the layers dock open. Forget the channels until required.

Back to removing those saved pixels in the alpha channel. This method might be a little easier for you.

Make a new transparent layer. Layer -> New Layer

Move the new layer to under the layer labeled 'Visible' You can click-drag in the layers dock or there are little up / down arrows bottom of the dock or use the menu Layer -> Stack -> Lower (raise) Layer

Select the layer labeled 'Visible' and merge down into the new layer  Layer -> Merge Down
