Help Browser Crashing
#2
Tried but I can not reproduce that error

This is a Win 10 64 bit VM + Gimp 2.8.22 + installed help files
using help browser https://i.imgur.com/kMbp9Wl.jpg
using web browser https://i.imgur.com/ZVtsq5x.jpg

You could check that the help-browser files are in the Gimp plug-ins folder
C:\Program Files\GIMP 2\lib\gimp\2.0\plug-ins  https://i.imgur.com/zCsw7nY.jpg

Not recommended to 'borrow' files from other computers but if you want to compare, the two files (64 bit) zipped and attached.

A long shot:

The toggle for using the web browser for help is in the Gimp profile file gimprc.
C:\Users\your-name\.gimp-2.8\gimprc

Try renaming that to disable it. https://i.imgur.com/0RVW7AZ.jpg there I renamed to gimprc.bak

Reinstalling Gimp very rarely fixes anything. If you do go that route, Use the uninstaller first, then check that the main Gimp folder has gone. Then disable your gimp profile and check that nothing 'Gimp' exists in appdata\roaming

You would then need to install the help files again, which might be the problem in the first place.
