There are 2 things you can try.
First
Use Smooth Stroke. (See attached image)
When using Smooth Stoke the brush becomes laggy. This is because it "averages" your movements before drawing on screen.
Second
Use paths. Draw a path, then stoke the path. This gives a very smooth line.
