CLONE Tool

I'm using GIMP 2.10.30.
 I can't get the CLONE tool to COPY from the SOURCE. I keep on getting a pattern instead of the part of the 
image I want to CLONE.

At the bottom of the clone tool options there is the option to choose the source as Image or Pattern. Select the Image option.
