You are correct, nufraw is a compiled plugin and needs a re-write for Gimp 3.0 - and I can not see that happening.

As a Gimp 2.10 plugin it does need a patch, to register with that pita Import option beloved of the Gimp Developers.

There is a PPA that does have packages for ubuntu / mint and Gimp 2.10
see: https://launchpad.net/~savoury1/+archive/ubuntu/gimp  - never used this one so it is try and see.

The plugin is old, It might not open your RAW image if it does not "know" the format. Best you get is 16 bit, but it is quick.  Strange side effect with my installation, it stops SVG images opening.  So I make it executable when required.

I have my own complied version from long ago, you can try it might / might not work. Two files nufraw-gimp which goes in your User plug-ins folder and liblensfun.so.1 which goes in /usr/lib/

This in kubuntu 24.04 / Gimp 2.10.38 (from Panda Jim PPA)

I am using GIMP 3.0.6 on Federoda 42. Lots of problems. Be great to get an appimage of 2.10.

I think another Fedora user reported that this worked. A Gimp 2.10.38 with python support

All you can do is download and try. Might / might not work on your installation.
