Thanks, Ofnuts: unfortunately, although your tip gives quite good extrusions, which can be edited further,
it quite misses the 'outlines' I am after
Seen through 'perspective stack', my last example looks like:
where the the three topmost layers (merged together in the actual figure) show the paths for the three coloured layers just below them (2 and 3 inverted). The path just above the red background is invisible in the result, being the topmost path moved to create the extrusion.
The challenge is generating paths 2 and 3 from the top: try as I would, I always end doing tons of hand edits…
**Last minute notion: the blue extrusion in the first example, masked by the text, can be put to Inkscape to
- trace
- or if that doesn't give a good result, to be used as model to edit the difference of the original paths?
