We use them a lot here even before to get in the country you show your QR code at the custom

If you have a QR code reader with adds on your phone, I'll strongly recommend to delete it and install the one from Denso Wave, they are the inventor of the QR code and there is no adds in their app
For Firefox I use "QR Code (Generator and Reader)", it works on images... right click ➤ Scan QR code, then a JS pops-up asking you if you want to open that url, it's simple
