Font problem
#1

I installed the Monserrat font family into Gimp (I tried both Google Fonts and 1001 Fonts and got the same result) and the file is corrupted--it types out one letter on top of another (see attached). is there any way to fix this?

It looks like your 'Adjust letter spacing is at about -13 or -14 Smile

In GIMP you got 2 separate controls, once you use the little one (in red), to that letter, word, sentence... It is assigned to it, thus whatever you do in the other one (in Green) wont affect the first assignment (except the function you don't have in the little window) even if all the text is selected, the settings in the Tool Options dialog will have only an effect on the text not affected by that little window (which is pretty cool IMO)

It is probably as Tas_mania explained. The font spacing. If you post a screenshot of the issue, with tool options and layer docks, it saves a lot of guessing.

Thanks--that works! I'm curious as to why this font does this and no others?
