How to crop an image to 1280 x 720?

How do I crop an image to 1280 x 720?

Crop or scale?
Crop would remove part of your picture and scale you would keep all of it. 
If cropping there are two ways (that I know of). The way denzjos showed you or you could rectangle select the area you want and go to the top menu that says 'Image' and crop to selection.

If you really want to crop a 1280x720 area from the image (rather than scaling the image to this size) you can select the "Fixed" option in the crop tool options dialog, then from the drop-down box next to "Fixed" select "Size" then enter the size in the box below as 1280x720

Thank you for your help I will try those things  Smile  I will also make a video which will make it clear of what I am trying to do. I will post it in  a couple of days.
