Alright - I guess I used one of the "Outlaw" web sites to get going on "GIMP"....
How is one to know ?
I have taken your advice and used Win 7 'Remove' to get rid of ALL "GIMP" stuff.
I will now go to the sites you have given me and try again.

Edited later - Downloaded from the .org site ans watched the Video....installing now.
Edited after above - seems to have worked fine.....now going for the Help Files as you recommended......
Further Edited - Downloaded and installed Help file you gave me - UP AND RUNNING !
I appear to be all ready to edit picture files ! THANK YOU Fellows ! ! ! ! !

PS - I will now go to the Forum to ask questions about 'Editing' should I have any (lol) !
