How to open the image without going to GIMP inside
#1
I feel not very convenient to look for the image inside the GIMP application
I want to open the image with GIMP directly with mouse right-click as soon as I see
the file I desire
However in the mouse list there is no way I can start with GIMP

Do you know what a file association is?

Two ways:

Enter search for association and select Change the file type screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/emjGHoD.jpg
For any particular file type jpg, png, tif, bmp ...click on Change program, choose Gimp, ok it. https://i.imgur.com/jATlcsb.jpg

or another way.

Reinstall Gimp, run the installer, choose the customise option. https://i.imgur.com/Qy75s8W.jpg
When you get to Select file associations click on Select All (and click Next until finished) https://i.imgur.com/X8nwRNQ.jpg
Clicking on a file, might open straight away or sometimes a one-off How-do-you-want-to-open-this-file. Choose Gimp, tick Always use and OK. https://i.imgur.com/fnvk5kI.jpg

However, you will get most benefit if you learn to use the Gimp Menus. One day you might want to add a second image over the first.

If you get stuck with the file associations, you can drag-n-drop into the main Gimp window.

It is only a matter of having a file association between the adequate image types and the Gimp application (but IIRC the Gimp installer sets that up, if you asked for it).

There are plenty of tutorials on the net for doing so, depending on your Windows version.

thank you . Drag and drop works greatly and it's the most convenient and direct method than any other plugin or settings!!!!!!!!!!!!
