Is English just badly pronounced French?

French is also very present in the Portuguese language.

The influence of some French words on the Portuguese language goes almost unnoticed, as is the case of Cacetete:
It comes from the verb Casser and the noun Tête. (to break one's head)

I'm not sure what the translation would be in French. I did some research and the closest thing was "Matraque".

In English, I think the translation would be "Truncheon".
