I think we are subject to a turing test or alike to see if we can detect or not that AI
More seriously, I think that we have an AI as member using the pseudonym of a Bollywood singer " nehakakar", look at ALL "her" posts > https://www.gimp-forum.net/search.php?ac...r&uid=8170
1) - In "her" profile: Operating system Window XP (no GIMP version), but "her" second post is about AppImage over snap, yes I know that means nothing, but "her" post add absolutely nothing to the topic, and her " I also prefer using trusted sources for downloads to keep things secure." looks 100% AI to me (the remaining of "her" comment as well).
2) - Necroposter, ALL "her" comments are on threads many months or years old.
3) - Comment construction: ALL are a successive short sentences, very positive, but adding nothing to the context or meaningless or over the top for nothing like "her" last post, last sentence " It’s exciting to see how GIMP will adapt to these changes!"
I could continue, but it was just some of my thoughts...

Could also be somebody trying to accumulate karma before a spamming rampage, although they don't take several days for this.
On the other hand, the IP address used is always the same and belongs to an Indian ISP that does end-user home connections, while I would expect an AI to have an address in some data center in the cloud.

It could also mean that it did not turn off its computer... India has has a total of 48,424,704 IP address for a population of... 1.4 Mil-yard (billion in short system ), I'm almost sure that most of their IPs are dynamics.
I assume it's like In the Philippines where they have only ~ 6 million IP for 120 million people, with the local ISPs, each time I did turn off my computer I'm freeing an IP, when I started it again, you can be sure I got a different IP, I'm sure their router which comes with the plan sent a signal.... (It's seems to be less frequent with Starlink, but still I got a different IP time to time when at night the dish goes asleep (I did not do a log of those, though, so might be also each time))
Number of IP per country > https://worldpopulationreview.com/countr...by-country

If it's like in the Philippines, we can't count on it, lots (I mean A LOT) of companies have a "home" plan for their internet

So, it was indeed just a crafty spammer. In his last attempt, he quoted one of his previous posts, and edited the quote to add a link in it, thinking that would go unnoticed.
Pity the fool.

I can't believe it, we have another spammer using AI to fill comments , same symptoms than "nehakkar", or is it the same with multiple accounts?
It's "Platiass" > https://www.gimp-forum.net/User-Platiass
Necroposter: none of the 4 comments are on threads started from the last 4 months, don't speak about GIMP, using "over-enthusiastic" words, clearly did not understood the OP even if speaking about the world map, add nothing to the thread, and so.... and already did put a link to an SEO website, and accelerating to post comments from the past 24h (3)

Yeah, the first post maybe excusable, but the 3 from yesterday are obviously generated. This one logs as from USA. Sometimes you get a poster with no or little English and they practise their "posting skills" on a forum. Used to be a copy-paste from some other topic, but not this one.
